Health Guarantee

Our Health Guarantee is written to protect your kitten during the important first weeks in a new home and to set clear expectations for both parties. A new environment, new people, and new routines can affect appetite, digestion, sleep, and behavior, so the goal is to separate normal adjustment from true medical concerns. Coverage focuses on serious illness and life impacting congenital or genetic conditions confirmed by a licensed veterinarian, supported by appropriate records and diagnostics.

This page explains how coverage works, what steps are required to keep the guarantee valid, and how claims are reviewed. The signed sales agreement remains the controlling document for exact time limits, definitions, and remedies, including what is considered covered, how documentation must be provided, and what options may be offered. If any wording on this page differs from your signed agreement, the signed agreement will apply. Questions are welcome before pickup or delivery so everything is understood and you can plan your first veterinary visit and home setup with confidence.

Veterinary Exam Requirement

A timely wellness exam is required because it establishes a medical baseline and protects both the buyer and breeder. A licensed veterinarian must examine your kitten within the time limit stated in your sales agreement, and the exam should include a full physical assessment of eyes, ears, mouth, heart, lungs, abdomen, skin, coat, hydration, body condition, and general development. Fecal testing is strongly recommended since kittens can carry parasites with few or no symptoms, and early identification supports quick treatment and a smoother transition.

Provide a copy of the written exam record within the same time limit, including your kitten identification, the clinic name, the veterinarian name, and any findings or recommendations. If the veterinarian suggests additional tests, contact us promptly before major decisions are made so we can review the information together. Failure to complete the exam within the required time limit can void the guarantee because later findings may not reflect the kitten health status at the time of placement.

What Is Covered

Coverage applies to serious illness diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian during the guarantee period defined in your signed agreement, and to congenital or genetic conditions that significantly affect quality of life. Serious illness generally means a condition that is not minor, not routine, and not expected to resolve without veterinary treatment, and that materially impacts the kitten well being.

Congenital or genetic conditions must be confirmed through veterinary evaluation and, when appropriate, diagnostic testing such as imaging, bloodwork, or specialist assessment. Written documentation is required, including the diagnosis, the basis for diagnosis, and the recommended treatment plan. A condition that is mild, cosmetic, or manageable with routine care may not qualify as covered unless the signed agreement states otherwise. If coverage applies, remedies are limited to those described in the signed agreement and may include a replacement kitten, a refund option, or other remedy specifically listed in writing. We may request communication directly with the diagnosing veterinarian to clarify findings, confirm records, and ensure the best next steps for the kitten.

What Is Not Covered

The guarantee does not cover common adjustment issues that frequently appear after a move, including brief appetite changes, mild diarrhea from diet transition, temporary hiding, or stress related vocalization. Normal kitten care needs are not covered, including routine deworming, standard vaccines, and typical ear cleaning or minor skin irritation, especially when caused by environmental change.

Parasites can be acquired after leaving our home through contact with other pets, contaminated soil, shoes, shared litter areas, or grooming tools, so prevention and testing are part of responsible ownership and are not considered a guarantee claim. Injuries, ingestion of foreign objects, exposure to toxins, falls, or accidents are not covered, and neither are conditions linked to unsafe housing, poor sanitation, improper nutrition, or delayed veterinary care. The guarantee also does not cover normal variation in adult size, coat development, eye color changes, fertility, or personality differences as the kitten matures. Any condition caused by breeding without written approval, outdoor access, or exposure to unknown animals may void coverage due to increased and untraceable risk.

Buyer Responsibilities

Buyer responsibilities exist to protect the kitten health and to keep the guarantee valid. Provide a clean indoor environment, fresh water, and a quality kitten diet suited for growth and digestion.

Food changes should be gradual over several days to reduce stomach upset, and treats should be introduced slowly. Follow your veterinarian guidance for vaccines and parasite prevention and keep written records, since missed or delayed vaccines without veterinary documentation can void coverage. A quiet starter room is recommended for the first days, with a clean litter box, familiar bedding, and limited access to the full home until the kitten is eating, drinking, and using the litter box reliably. Introductions to other pets should be slow and controlled, using scent swapping and supervised visits to reduce stress and exposure risk. Indoor only living is required, since outdoor access increases exposure to infectious disease, parasites, injuries, theft, and trauma. Prompt veterinary care is also required when symptoms appear, since delays can worsen outcomes and make it difficult to determine cause and timeline.

How To Request Help With A Health Concern

Contact us as soon as a serious concern appears so we can support you quickly and document the timeline properly. Provide your kitten name, date of pickup or delivery, a clear description of symptoms, the temperature if taken, eating and drinking status, stool quality, and any known exposures such as contact with other pets or recent visitors. Share the veterinary clinic name, veterinarian name, and appointment time, and send copies of records after the visit. Claims require written documentation that includes the diagnosis, test results, treatment plan, and prognosis.

Communication with the veterinarian may be requested to confirm the medical findings and to clarify whether the condition is likely congenital, infectious, environmental, or related to husbandry factors. Do not attempt to return a kitten without written approval and clear instructions, since a return without coordination can risk the health of other animals and can delay appropriate care. Treatment decisions remain between you and your veterinarian, and our role is to review documentation, discuss options, and apply the signed agreement fairly.

Remedies

Remedies, when available, are limited to those stated in the signed sales agreement and depend on timing, diagnosis, documentation, and compliance with required steps such as the initial veterinary exam. A replacement kitten may be offered for a covered condition, and the timing will depend on availability, season, and matching the family needs.

Some situations may involve a waiting period for the next suitable litter, and buyers may be able to choose from available kittens when the time comes. A refund option, partial or full, may be available in limited cases, based on the agreement terms and the specifics of the diagnosis. Veterinary expenses are typically the buyer responsibility unless the signed agreement states otherwise in writing, and any cost assistance must be approved in advance with written estimates and documentation.

If return of the kitten is required to receive a specific remedy, written instructions will be provided to protect the kitten welfare and the health of other cats. No remedy can be offered without the required veterinary records, diagnosis, and proof that the buyer responsibilities were met.

What Voids The Guarantee

The guarantee may be voided by actions that create increased health risk or prevent a fair review of timing and cause. Missing the required veterinary exam window is a common reason coverage becomes invalid, since later diagnoses may not reflect the kitten condition at placement. Outdoor access or roaming voids the guarantee because exposure to disease, parasites, toxins, injuries, and unknown animals becomes impossible to track and is outside controlled conditions. Breeding or attempting to breed without written authorization also voids coverage, since reproductive activity introduces additional stress and medical variables and violates the terms of pet placement.

Evidence of neglect, unsafe housing, poor sanitation, inadequate nutrition, or failure to seek timely veterinary care can void coverage because these factors can cause or worsen illness. Vaccine delays without written veterinary justification, or failure to follow parasite prevention guidance, may also void coverage. Transfer of ownership without written notice and approval can void coverage because we cannot verify ongoing care, medical records, or environmental risk after the transfer.

Rehoming Policy

If circumstances change, contact us before making rehoming decisions. Our priority is to keep the kitten safe and to avoid stressful, high risk transitions. We can discuss return options, help screen a new home, or advise on a plan that protects health and wellbeing. Written communication is important so expectations are clear and so medical records can follow the kitten correctly. Many issues that lead families to consider rehoming can be improved through routine changes, behavior support, or veterinary guidance, and we can often provide practical suggestions based on typical kitten development.

Do not surrender the kitten to a shelter, rescue, or third party without written approval, since health status, quarantine practices, and future placement standards can vary widely. Returning a kitten or arranging an approved rehome also helps prevent the kitten from being passed between homes, which can increase stress and health problems. If a return is arranged, follow the written instructions for timing, transport, and current veterinary documentation so the transition is safe.

Limitations

The guarantee is limited to the specific remedies described in the signed sales agreement and is not an insurance policy. Coverage does not include indirect costs such as travel, hotel stays, missed work, or incidental expenses related to veterinary visits. Emotional distress, inconvenience, and non medical preferences are not covered. The guarantee also does not promise a particular adult size, coat length, color development, or temperament, since genetics and environment both influence those traits over time. Veterinary decisions and medical outcomes can vary, and no breeder can guarantee that a living animal will never develop illness.

The purpose of the guarantee is to set a fair process and to provide defined remedies when a covered condition is confirmed with proper documentation and within the stated time limits. Written records and timely communication are essential for any review, since accurate timelines determine whether coverage applies. The signed agreement provides the final definitions, deadlines, and remedy limits, and it should be reviewed carefully before pickup or delivery.

Contact

Questions before pickup or delivery are encouraged, since planning reduces stress for you and your kitten. Send a message with the kitten name, your full name, the date of pickup or delivery, and the best phone number for urgent contact. Include your veterinarian clinic name and phone number if a concern arises, along with any appointment date and time. Share clear photos or short videos if symptoms are visible, since visual information can help describe breathing effort, eye discharge, stool consistency, or mobility concerns. Copies of veterinary records should be sent as soon as available, including exam notes, test results, and discharge instructions.

Communication is kept straightforward and focused on facts so the next steps are clear. If an emergency occurs, seek veterinary care immediately and notify us as soon as possible after your kitten is stable, since rapid treatment matters more than paperwork in urgent situations.
